1940's Nettie Rosenstein fur clip. Fabulous detailed hearts with key holes suspended from an ornate figural piece - two figures on the sides, one in the middle and 2 small animal heads on the top sides. The fur clip itself is marked Sterling and the figural metal piece is marked Nettie Rosenstein. It measures 3 1/4" long x 2" wide. There is slight wear to the vermeil commensurate with age. Lovely vintage 1950's Chrysanthemum flower pin and earring demi-parure. The brooch measures 2" in width x 1 3/4". This interesting material is called featherweight. It reminds me of a stiff meringue. Featherweight is actually a compound that imitates the Turkish chalk property called "meerschaum" that means "sea foam" in Dutch. The clip on earrings measure 1 1/4" in diameter.

Sterling Puffy Coyote Earrings - x116

Beautiful pierced cut sterling screw back earrings. They are puffy with the design is on both sides. 2" long and are 3/4" at the widest point. Nice aged patina that I have not cleaned off. No signed marks visible but quite possibly could be marked on the inside of the two pieces that were formed together. I see the design as resembling a Coyote.

The arts and crafts base is marked on the under plate: B&H 164. Near the sockets it is marked Pat Appld For. Four (4) sockets with individual pull chains. The cut out metal is a fruit and leaf pattern. Top of shade has ornate metal work. Shade is 17" wide, stands 26" high and the lamp base is 8" wide. For safety, it has been rewired with silk cord. Signed Krementz delicate screw back floral earrings. Pretty light blue enamel with cultured pearls and green enamel leaves. They measure 3/4" wide x 15/16" long. Krementz is known for their high quality hard rolled 14K gold overlay. Theirs were 30 times more thicker than other costume plated jewelry. These earrings come in the original box - never worn. This bracelet is designed in white with connecting decorated links of two different goddesses. It measures 7" in length, each section is 5/16" x 5/16". It has a push in clasp and is marked Siam Sterling on the clasp.

These Thai pieces were popular in the 1950s through '70s, and were produced by a variety of jewelry shops. It is technically "Niello" or "Nielloware", created by carving out areas of the silver, and baking a sulfur/metals powder in the carved out areas. Colored pieces were a less demanding process. The design often displays Mekkala, the Goddess of Lightning, and represents the Buddhist and Hindu Indian legend, Ramayama (and its Thai counterpart, Ramakien), about a prince, his wife, his parents (King and Queen of Siam), and an evil king. This jewelry was often sent to American wives/girlfriends from their soldier-husbands/boyfriends on leave from fighting in Viet Nam, or stationed in Thailand during the Viet Nam war.
