Amazing figural turtle tortoise brooch by DeLizza & Elster aka Juliana. Designed with a large faceted heliotrope watermelon stone surrounded by shades of prongsest green chaton rhinestones. Its head is a pear shaped emerald green rhinestone with sparkly red aurora borealis chaton rhinestones for eyes. Brilliant goldtone metal. Measures 2  1/2" x 1 1/2". Pristine condition.
 
This book piece is featured on the back cover of Ann Pitman's Juliana Jewelry Referencer DeLizza & Elster Identification & Value Guide. There were a few color variations of this brooch. The heliotrope stone in this piece is most sought after.
 
All D&E jewelry is unsigned and is identified and verified by construction. However, their Juliana line that was produced from 1967-1968 came with foil hangs although many hang tags are no longer intact.
 
This quality deisgner was established in the late 1940's.
